HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATION BYLAWS

WELCOME!

About the Board

Some people confuse the Bylaws with the Covenants and Restrictions of the subdivision. Bylaws are:

"Rules governing the operation of a corporation, organization, or association. They provide the methods for the selection of directors, officers, or board members, the creation of committees, and the conduct of meetings."Homeowners Association Bylaws are not created or modified by the associations or their residents. Instead, Bylaws are provided by the municipalities or other governing bodies. Our Bylaws were created by Canton Township - they are the same Bylaws that all other Homeowners Associations in Canton Township are forced to adopt.

The "Covenants and Restrictions" are the rules and regulations which the residents of a homeowners association must follow. An association's Covenants and Restrictions must inherit those of the governing body (Canton Township). Our Covenants and Restrictions were provided by Canton Township, and many of them are directly coorelated with one or more Canton Ordinances. Therefore, although the association has the power to change its Covenants and Restrictions with a 2/3 majority vote, it cannot override any Canton Ordinances or other rules enforced by the Township. Good examples would be the restrictions on sheds and fences.

The board of Kimberly Meadows is a group of volunteers who are reelected each year by a casual vote at the Annual Association Meeting.  Our current board is made up of the following individuals who are working together for the benefit of the Association.

Terry McLellan
Kay Swenders

Although we have been assigned specific roles, each board member will contribute equally to the overall management of the association and the subdivision. Our goal is to represent the best interests of all the homeowners. We are proud of the neighborhood in which we live, and we will do our best to help make this a great place to live for everyone.

The board meets regularly to review the financial statements, discuss the status of projects and assigned tasks, and address issues brought up by the homeowners. You may contact the board via e-mail by filling out the form on the "Contact Us" page.
